DR. M. SEBRENA JACKSON, LCSW
PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Dr. M. Sebrena Jackson is the MSW Program Director and Assistant Professor at The University of Alabama School of Social Work. She holds an MSW and Ph.D. from the Whitney M. Young, Jr. School of Social work at Clark Atlanta University and a BSW from Tuskegee University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia.

Dr. Jackson received NASW Alabama’s 2017 Social Worker of the Year award and NASW Georgia’s 2009 Social Worker of the Year award for her work with youth.

DR. RONNIE JACKSON
PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Dr. Ronnie Jackson is a consultant in The University of Alabama School of Social Work. He works to develop and implement strategies to recruit BSW students, with particular focus on freshman and first generation students. He holds an EdD from Clark Atlanta University, an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Fort Valley State University.

Dr. Jackson has extensive experience working with adults and youth in educational settings, including formerly founding a K-12 academy for boys.

PROGRAM ASSISTANTS

NSEP partners with Schools of Social Work to hire BSW students (rising seniors), MSW students, and recent graduates to serve as Program Assistants. Program Assistants live in the residence halls with students during the six-week summer experience. They work closely with the Program Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of the program. Program Assistants are responsible for providing supervision of students, leading some classroom activities, and transporting students to and from agency partners.

Program Assistants are paid weekly. Program Assistants also have paid housing and meals during the six weeks. The program also covers entrances into all activities such as movies, bowling, water parks, etc.
